MS Teams prices are rising sharply by 25%

On Tuesday, Microsoft announced price changes for Teams Phone and Copilot announced. For Teams Phone, a cloud-based service that allows companies to use Microsoft Teams as a phone system, the fees for the Standard subscription will increase from eight out of ten U.S. dollars per user per month—this corresponds to a 25% increase Percent. Microsoft attributes this price increase to the added value of enabling «flexible, intelligent, and reliable» calls within Teams. Prices for customers with special agreements—including those who use Teams Phone for customer service, as well as customers with a Teams Calling Plan Bundle—will also be adjusted; they will rise to $5 per month per user and $22 per month per user, respectively. For users of Microsoft 365 E5 or Office 365 E5, prices will remain unchanged for the time being. The new rates are scheduled to take effect on April 1, 2025.
