Configuring Yeastar with winTrunk

Configuring Yeastar MyPBX IP Phone Systems with a Winet „winTrunk“

As of April 25, 2016

General Information

These instructions describe how to set up MyPBX IP phone systems from Yeastar using SIP trunk phone connections from Winet.

https://www.winet.ch/winet/Produkte/winTrunk/index.php

These instructions were created using a „winTrunk“ connection from iWay.

The configuration described here is the same for all MyPBX models. A Yeastar MyPBX Soho V6 with firmware version 15.19.0.48 was used to create this guide. With newer firmware, the configuration screens may differ from those shown here.

Setting Up the VoIP Connection

In the MyPBX web configuration, select the „PBX“ icon at the top, then select „Connections VoIP Connections“ in the navigation bar on the left, and then configure via

„New VoIP Connections“—create a new connection.

Type:SIP
Service Provider Name:Freely selectable
Hostname/IP:Winet's IP address or domain
Port: Domain: User Name: Login Name: PasswordThe SIP port specified by Winet, typically 5060. IP address or domain provided by Winet; SIP username / information provided by Winet; SIP password / information provided by Winet
Maximum number of call channels:Enter the number of SIP voice channels you have ordered from Winet here.
DOD Setting:This setting determines which phone numbers the extensions report when making outgoing calls. In the „Global DOD“ field, enter the phone number that all extensions should report unless they have been explicitly configured otherwise. The entry is typically 10 digits long, but your provider may specify a different length. You can obtain this information from your provider. In the „DOD:“ field below, enter one of the extension numbers, select the desired extension in the „Connected Extension“ field, and add the extension to the DOD settings by clicking the „Add DOD“ button. The number is usually 10 digits long, but your provider may specify a different length. You can obtain this information from your provider.

Save the settings by clicking the „Save“ button, and then click the „Apply Changes“ button so that MyPBX applies the saved settings.

Next, click the „Status“ button and select „Line Status" from the navigation menu.

The Winet SIP trunk should now be displayed as „OK.“.

Note:Please note that your Internet router must allow outgoing connections on certain ports to Winet's IP address.

Set Up an Outgoing Route

To allow MyPBX extensions to use the connection for outgoing calls, an outgoing route must be configured.

To do this, select the „PBX“ button, then select „Outgoing Call Control > Outgoing Routes“ in the navigation pane, and click the „New Outgoing Route“ button.

Route Name:Freely selectable
T.38 Support:Set this to „Yes“ if you plan to use a fax machine and your provider supports the T.38 protocol.
Dialing patterns:Enter the dialing patterns here according to the Yeastar MyPBX instructions. In the example shown, „0.“ was entered as the dialing pattern so that the line is used for all outbound calls whose numbers begin with a 0. In addition, “11X” was entered as a dialing pattern so that the line is used for three-digit emergency numbers beginning with 11 (e.g., 110, 112).
Members, Extension:Select the extensions here that are allowed to make outgoing calls via the Winet connection.
Member Affiliations:Select the Winet connection you have set up here.

Save the settings by clicking the „Save“ button, and then click the „Apply Changes“ button so that MyPBX applies the saved settings.

Set Up Inbound Routes

For incoming calls, you must now specify which devices should ring when a call is made to the Winet connection's phone number(s).

As a rule, the extensions should ring on their respective direct lines. In addition, this example sets up a central number that rings one or more phones.

To set up incoming routes, select the „PBX“ button, then select„Incoming Call Control > Incoming Connections“ in the navigation pane, and click the „New Incoming Route“ button.

First, we'll create an inbound route for the headquarters.

Route Name:Freely selectable
DID number:Enter the incoming phone number to which this route should apply here. In the example shown, this would be the headquarters' phone number, 0448431313.Important: The phone number is entered according to the provider's specifications. In our example, the phone number is signaled as a 10-digit number.
Participant Connections:Select the Winet connection you have set up here.
Office Hours in Ziel / Outside Office Hours in ZielHere, we can choose whether the destination should be a single extension, a call group, an answering machine, a queue, or an interactive voice response (IVR) system. To the right of that, we then specify the destination. In our example, the switchboard number should ring on the „Switchboard“ call group that has been created. In this type of configuration, you can specify different destinations for business hours and after hours (e.g., an answering machine after hours) and also select one of several configured business hours from the list above. If you have not set up office hours, enter the same destination in both fields. Additional options for configuring incoming routes are described in the

Described in the Yeastar MyPBX Manual.

Save the settings by clicking the „Save“ button, and then click the „Apply Changes“ button so that MyPBX applies the saved settings.

Next, we'll set up a route so that all direct extensions ring directly at their respective extensions.

Route Name:Freely selectable
DID number:Enter the range of phone numbers to which this route applies here. In the example shown, this would be the range from 044 843 13 10 to 044 843 13 29.Important: Here, too, the phone number is entered with 10 digits. In our example, 0448431310-0448431329 was entered.
Extension:This is where you enter the range of extensions that should ring for this number range. In our example, these are extensions 110 through 129.  Configured this way, dialing 044 843 13 10 would ring extension 110, dialing 044 843 13 11 would ring extension 111, and so on, up to the direct dial and extension -29 / 129.
The direct dial numbers on the Winet line and the extensions do not have to be the same.
Participant Connections: Select the Winet you created here.

In this type of configuration, any settings that may have been made are located in the section

„Workday“ is ignored. Phones configured this way will always ring, regardless of the set office hours.

Instead of a range of DID numbers and extensions, you can also enter just one DID number or extension. For example, if you were to enter DID number 0448431329 and extension 129, dialing the direct number 044 843 13 29 would cause extension 129 (regardless of office hours).

Additional options for configuring incoming routes are described in the Yeastar MyPBX manual.
